CAYO GRANDE RUM

Made according to recipes passed on from generation to generation, the different varieties of Cayo Grande Club rum bring together the aromatic notes of distilling the best sugar cane, grown in the ideal Caribbean climate by expert hands.

Using one of the oldest and most traditional rum production techniques used in the Caribbean islands, there are two crucial stages in making the Cayo Grande Club range of rums which are largely responsible for their identity and characteristics.

 

THE FERMENTATION AND DISTILLATION OF THE MUST

Here the different alcoholic phases are obtained by distilling the fermented sugary run- off from hand selected sugar canes.

AGEING

At this mystical stage, the aromatic elements of the distilled alcohols and liqueurs blend with the components of the wood from the barrels, forming new combinations responsible for the drink’s aroma, character, and identity.  The barrels used in this ageing process are American white oak and have been used for bourbon whisky, giving them a powerful, transformed woody flavour.

In the case of Ronmiel (Honey Rum), it has the feature that the longest aged rums from the cellars are included in producing this rum. These are then mixed with carefully selected, highest quality honeys and placed in barrels in a smoothing process lasting at least 6 months, during which all the aromatic components of the honey are integrated with those of the rum.

Another feature of the Cayo Grande Club range is that ‘Gran Reserva’ rums are always involved in the blending of each product, adding a special note to their bouquet.

 

FOUR EXPRESSIONS

  • Cayo Grande Club Ronmiel is a delicious liqueur made from the purest rum and rigorously selected honeys. The result is sweet, smooth, and pleasant.

  • Cayo Grande Club Blanco is a white rum distilled from the best sugarcane. Has a characteristic slightly sweet aroma and pleasant flavour with tones of vanilla and dried sweet almonds.

  • Cayo Grande Club Dorado is an aged rum distilled from the best sugarcane. Has a characteristic slightly sweet aroma and pleasant flavour with tones of vanilla and dried sweet almonds, combined with oak barrel aroma and flavour.

  • Cayo Grande Club Spiced is a rum liquor distilled from the best sugarcane. Has a characteristic slightly sweet aroma and a pleasant vanilla flavour combined with the spiciness of the chilli.
