Some history.

It's journey began shortly after Banks Breweries opened its doors in Wildey, St. Michael on September 6, 1961. Founded by Peter Stanislaus D’Aguiar, a Guyanese businessman with vast experience in the bottling industry, Banks Brewery owes its existence to the 3,000 Barbadians who lent their support and purchased over $1.5 million shares in 1959.  

 

It's award winning taste has received top honours during International competitions for its quality, excellence and brewing technique. Brewed from a classic blend of British and Austrian malted barley, water that is naturally filtered through coral limestone and their very own special strain of brewer’s yeast. This beer is from the Caribbean and is the national beer

of Barbados and Guyana.

  • Banks uses Barbado's water, naturally filtered through limestone rock, along with their own special strain of yeast, which gives Banks it's unique Bajan character and distinctive quality.

  • In 2001, Banks achieved more gold medals for every brand entered at the Monde Selection and received an award for International High Quality.

  • Awarded Gold at the Monde Selection Awards in 2013.
